The Coronavirus started in around I think August of 2019, I believe in China and it reached the US
in December of 2019.
Today it’s March 25th 2021, and we are still in the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s taken a toll on
everybody.
When it first started, I had a really hard time staying at home all the time and being away. Like I
had to stay at home 24/7, and I was with the same people 24/7. I didn’t like staying at home all
the time, I didn’t like not experiencing new things every minute of the day like I would being at
school. Like I would, I pass different people in the hallway every single time i go out when im at
school, whereas here I’m at home I’m with my parents and my brothers all the time.
And it kinda, kinda drains you. Like I had several mental breakdowns because it was so hard,
and I… for the longest time I tried to find things to help keep me busy, especially like on days that
we didn’t have school, or school would be done early or like I didn’t have any homework. I tried
to find a lot of like art crafts to do, especially when it was cold out, we couldn’t really go outside.
It got a lot better in the summer. I was able to hang out outside more, on my hammock; I read a
lot of books, which I’m satisfied with that. I’m proud of myself for reading books over the summer
because it’s not something I do a lot.
So, I think COVID maybe helped a lot of people, for sure myself, get a lot of personal things
done, like around the house. We were able to get new countertops in our house, and new rugs,
and I painted our entire porch white, I read a lot of books, I painted my room, I reorganized my
room. We’ve gotten rid of a lot of stuff that we don’t need anymore. I feel like a lot of people have
been able to do that. Like spring cleaning, but I guess you’d call it COVID cleaning now *laughs*.
But then again the Coronavirus has raised a lot of anxiety for a lot of people, especially a lot of
older people.
People don’t get to go to church anymore. My grandparents are very religious and they would
rather be in church than have to watch it on a computer all of the time. Or the people, that their
jobs, like COVID makes their jobs a lot harder. Thankfully my parents are able to do their jobs
from home, they work on computers. My mom’s a graphic designer, and my dad’s an industrial
designer, so they’re able to do all of that on their computers at home. Sometimes they’ll go into
the office, but not a lot, not all of the time. But then there’s some people like doctors and police
officers and all of them who literally can’t stay at home, they have to be in person, they have to
be there and that puts a lot of risk of them getting COVID.
And I don’t know, even just to talk about the number of people that have died from COVID, I’m
pretty sure the US is now the leading country with the amount of deaths from COVID-19, and the
amount of cases in general.
It’s even come to the point where we have new variants of the disease, which is really scary.
We’re starting, we have vaccines now and we’re starting to distribute those, but if there’s new
variants of the Coronavirus, then these vaccines that are specific to the one version of the
Coronavirus might not work on the other versions of the Coronavirus, which is kind of scary. And
I’ve herd that some variants are more dangerous and more susceptible than the original
Coronavirus.
Yeah…um, my grandparents don’t like going out a lot anymore just because of safety reasons,
they’d rather stay inside, like they don’t like being inside places with a lot of people. But I think
that it’s getting better. I think that people just need to be considerate of other people, they need
to wear masks and they need to not be in large groups all the time and get the vaccine.
Everybody just needs to be responsible, I think it’ll get better…hopefully, because I don’t want to

have to live like this the rest of my life. I mean, I like staying at home now, but it’s not fantastic.
